Heading For Healthy Relationships
Heading for Healthy Relationships is a Six week programme which aims to provide a preventative approach to domestic violence. The programme enables young people to recognise the characteristics of healthy, unhealthy and abusive relationships and to identify the early warning signs that a relationship has the potential to become abusive.
The programme provides resources and opportunities for earlier interventions to enable young people to: identify how to increase their feelings of safety access support, speak to others in dealing with issues that are causing them distress, particularly those experiencing dating violence within their own relationships and/or domestic violence within the home.
Through a variety of media, young people have the opportunity to explore, discuss and debate relationships, domestic violence and conflict resolution.
" Excellent Training/information for our young people. Having positive role models delivering the key messages involved in the programme is fundamental to the success of the programme. Thank you! "(Heading For Healthy Relationships, Teacher, Belmont House School, 18/04/11)
